About Us

Generation Safe Path Consulting is a social development and migration protection consultancy working across the Horn of Africa. We help people move, work and live in safety and dignity, and we help communities build real, safe choices at home.

Who We Are

We are a dedicated team of professionals with expertise in social development, migration protection, research, training and project management. We work with communities, government institutions, civil society organisations, UN agencies, donors and development partners to design and deliver practical, high-quality solutions that fit the local context.

Our work is guided by one belief: every person has the right to safety and dignity, and no one should have to risk their life on a dangerous journey because there is no other option.

Why Our Work Matters

The Horn of Africa is a region of constant movement. People move for work, education, family, safety and the hope of a better life. Many of these movements are safe and regular. Too many, however, take place along irregular routes where people are exposed to smuggling, trafficking, abuse, exploitation and loss of life.

Behind these journeys are real pressures: limited livelihood opportunities, youth unemployment, drought and the effects of climate change, displacement, and a lack of reliable information about safe and legal options. Smugglers and traffickers take advantage of these gaps.

Prevention therefore has to work on several fronts at the same time: awareness, protection services, economic opportunity, strong institutions and cooperation across borders. This combined approach is what we bring to every assignment.

Our Mission

To prevent migrant smuggling, human trafficking and exploitation, and to promote safe and regular migration and sustainable community development across the Horn of Africa, through research, capacity building, protection and partnership.

Our Vision

A Horn of Africa where people are safe, communities are strong and young people have bright futures, whether they stay at home or migrate, by choice and not out of desperation.

Where We Work

We work across the Horn of Africa, including the cross-border areas that connect its countries. We partner with communities, authorities and organisations throughout the region, wherever our expertise is needed.

What We Do

Our work is organised into four connected focus areas:

  • Anti-Smuggling, Migration and Protection – preventing smuggling and trafficking, protecting people at risk, and promoting safe migration and good migration governance.
  • Social and Community Development – youth empowerment, livelihoods, child protection, human rights and community-based protection.
  • Capacity Building and Institutional Development – training, leadership, governance and organisational strengthening.
  • Research, Projects and Partnerships – evidence, project management, monitoring and evaluation, and partnership development.

Our Approach

  • Community-centred. Communities are partners, not recipients. They help identify priorities, take part in decisions and own the results.
  • Rights-based and protection-focused. We put the safety, dignity and rights of people first, and follow the principle of “do no harm”.
  • Evidence-based. Programmes are shaped by research, data and lessons learned, not assumptions.
  • Context-specific. We adapt to the culture, language, economy and security situation of each area instead of copying solutions from elsewhere.
  • Inclusive. We make sure women, girls, youth, children, people with disabilities, displaced people and host communities are heard and included.
  • Partnership-driven. We work alongside local authorities, civil society and international partners so that efforts support each other.
  • Sustainable. We strengthen local skills and institutions so that results continue after a project ends.

Our Values

  • Integrity – we are honest, transparent and fair in everything we do.
  • Dignity and respect – we treat every person with respect, regardless of background or status.
  • Accountability – we answer to the communities we serve and to the partners and donors who support us.
  • Inclusion – we reach out to those who are most often left behind.
  • Collaboration – we believe lasting change comes from working together.
  • Quality – we aim for high professional standards in research, training and delivery.

Safeguarding and Ethics

We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of everyone we work with, especially children and people at risk. We respect confidentiality and informed consent, we do not tolerate sexual exploitation, abuse or harassment, and we expect our partners and consultants to uphold the same standards.
